The emergency diesel generator unit provides the necessary power for the yaw system and central control system of the wind turbine to operate normally in the event of an external power grid failure. This is to cope with extreme weather (such as typhoons), equipment failures, or other emergencies, protecting equipment and personnel safety and preventing further losses. To prevent power from being fed back into the grid, the circuit breaker automatically disconnects from the grid power supply and switches to the emergency diesel generator unit's power supply in the event of a grid power failure. To prevent mechanical overload of the wind turbine due to yaw system malfunction, the emergency diesel generator unit can start within a specified time when the wind turbine loses grid power.
